In case you were not aware, Do It Yourself(DIY) skateparks have been popping up all over. Most recently in Wilmington, Ambler, and now in my hometown of West Chester!

I'm excited because Jesse Clayton really has his concrete game down and Pusher Wheels out of Philly is helping out as well. What we normally take for granted as a concrete park takes a LOT of work and it's nice to see Jesse helping the cause and building some incredible spots. Check the video to see exactly what goes into making a DIY Park and how you can help.

On October 1st there will be a contest in West Chester that Fairman's Skate Shop is hosting to kick off the newest DIY park in PA just blocks from the shop. Come out and support the cause!

New Issue of Focus is out!

I was pleasantly surprised today at work when the new issue of Focus arrived!

For the last few issues I have been working at Focus doing some of their ad sales to help out. I consider myself lucky to be working at a mag that cares so much about skating and getting exposure to relatively unknown east-coast skaters. This issue I was really lucky and had a bunch of photos run that I'm very excited about.

Here are the mag scans, as well as my original photos. Let me know what you think!

Let's start out with Mathis's two page spread which was also my first time giving an interview ever.

What you don't know about Mathis's portrait is that we were at York Park for a contest. He forgot his phone in West Chester and borrowed my phone about 5 times throughout the contest so that he could check in with his girlfriend.

One of my favorite skaters Neil Herrick landed this issue's FAIRMAN's ad.

Andrew Cannon was the guest editor for this issue and wrote a really good page to kick the issue off. The photo was shot by Delaware's finest Tommy Zhao in China.

My buddy Scott and Fairman's teamrider got Effigy's ad for this issue skating the legendary Cardiel rail in his new hometown city of San Fran.

My buddy and Fairman's shop homie Mike Moll got his first coverage in the incentives section with this gnarly 50-50 dropin.

I'm a nerd and had him sign it for when he gets famous.

First off, I'd like to apologize to Scott for never posting all of these. Everything is from a short trip to California over the summer where I had the opportunity to shoot some photos while house sitting for my aunt. I moved them to my external harddrive and once that happened, they slipped out of my mind, luckily I was going through some stuff and found them, so even though some of these were already posted, I'm posting them with the rest!

I was staying up near Sacramento and took a trip down to San Fran to visit my sister. On the way I swung by Atlas Skateshop in San Mateo and surprised former Fairman's team rider Mike Manidis. I had never met him before but he dropped what he was doing and took me to his local park to skate for a bit. He is one of the raddest dudes ever and shreds super hard. Thanks Mike!
