Intro to Photography

I found some scanned prints that I made during highschool and college back when I shot nothing but black and white film. Even if they aren't the best shots, these are some of my most favorite shots I have ever taken.

Rodeo in North Dakota.

The Brendan's getting Holy!

The church by my house in the morning.

Jay was the Sous Chef at the restaurant I used to work at. He introduced me to medium format film and Bulleit Bourbon.

I didn't take this one, but I am the guy with the ridiculous hair and Shrek watch. I had all of those watches.

This is probably the very first skate shot I ever took. Exton, Pa, at the Chile's that I think is now a Jimmy Buffet tribute restaurant.

I was too much of a wuss to actually jump off this thing, so I just took the photos.

Hands down, one of my favorite photos I have taken in my life.

Cruddy shoes.

One of my favorite people in the entire world.

Another rodeo shot.

My cousins work on a cattle farm in N. Dakota. But I still love this shot.

Pinhole positive/negative shot of WCU during construction.

Another pinhole outside the art building.

Self portrait from way back.

Old barn shots

Recently it's been getting pretty tough getting into the barn, but i figured I'd post some old shots that I took.

In other news, my knee has been feeling a lot better and I expect to be back to snowboarding soon, so hopefully there will be some photos to follow.

Lots going on!

I'm super hyped, I got a "Behind the Lens" for this month's Focus Magazine. Neil Herrick got a beastly ollie in the writeup. I also shot a photo and portrait for the "Fresh Find" with my bud Angel Acevedo. Go to your local shop now and pick up this issue. It's the photo issue on top of everything and is jam packed with awesome shots. Thanks to Mazur and Zander over at Focus for putting up with all my e-mails!

In other news, I finished a rough launch of my new website, so head on over to LukeDarigan.com and book me for your next wedding!

Piff City Friends

Here is the Friends section of my buddy Kevin McGovern's skate video, "Piff City." Check out his YouTube for some other videos.  He is going to be posting each part over the near future so check back. Below is the cover shot of "Piff City" that a friendly security guard let me shoot a while back.

Blowin' it by Day 8

It's only 8 days into the New Year and I already can't hack the 365 Project. In an attempt to make up for the last couple days I'm going to post a bunch of new pictures from today some shots I took a while ago at the Nocturnal TF of Kerry, Maldonado, and Kyle Nicholson for my buddy Jon Cran's documentary named Woven. I posted the trailor of his film at the bottom. Get hyped!

Day 5

So I'm kinda blowin' it on this 365 Project already. My schedules a little more hectic than I thought it would be so I'm posting shots I've already took... better than nothing!

Here is the non-warmup shot that was my first post. Mr Neil Herrick with a back feeble.

Day 2

Today for my 365 Project I decided to stray from still shots and go with some video I shot at The Barn. I shot it with Ian of SoTrill's new Canon 60D, so it counts as a photo... kinda. As Ian says, I should really stick to photography, not filming.

Happy New Years + an attempt at a 365 Project.

So the rage these days is for people to do something called a 365 Project where they take a photograph every day for a year straight. I decided I am going to attempt this, but beware, if this happens there will be a lot of pictures of my cats on the slow days. Here is a warm-up shot from today's skate trip with Neil Herrick coming in for day #1.
